The Solberg Tower and Park complex is located near the town of Sarpsborg in southeastern Norway: according to the project's customers, it will be the first stop for travelers entering the country from Sweden by car.

The park is an area of 2,000 m2, enclosed by a wall - outside sheathed in Corten steel, and inside - with wood. This wall leads to the foot of the observation tower, merging with it into one volume. On the ground there are wooden platforms, benches, corten steel pavilions with information posters. The decision of this space is subordinated to the desire to emphasize certain elements of the surrounding landscape, either opening a view of them, or hiding behind an obstacle.

The 30-meter tower is a concrete structure sheathed with wood on the outside. Panoramic windows allow visitors to follow the process of their ascent up. From the observation platform above you can see the Oslofjord, as well as about a hundred (!) Historical monuments and attractions that the Sarpsborg region is rich in. Therefore, an archetypal structure like the tower of Solberg Park seems to be a particularly apt form for introducing Norway to travelers, as it is surrounded by medieval churches, castles, burial grounds and fortresses, for which it serves as an anticipatory symbol.
