The VELUX Group is committed to neutralizing its carbon footprint for the entire history of the company since its foundation in 1941 - a total of 5.6 million tonnes of CO2 - and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. In Uganda, the focus will be on restoring degraded forests, growing new forests and protecting remaining natural forests through a wide range of measures. Within the framework of this project, reforestation will be carried out on the territory of commercial forests, in other agroforestry farms, on plantations outside specially protected natural areas - to meet the needs for timber and non-timber forest products and to reduce the pressure on natural forests. The Myanmar project will protect the unique biodiversity and forest landscapes of the Tanintharyi region and will work closely with local communities to improve their living conditions.
