AkzoNobel International Aesthetics Center presents the key color of 2021 - Fertile Soil, which has taken pride of place in the palette of the Dulux paint brand for 2021. Pleasant to the eyes - dim and natural - this color connects us with nature, helps to accept the changes that have happened in our life, to realize the value of simple things and phenomena. Warm and deep, it emphasizes the beauty of other shades, and therefore can serve as the basis for unusual and memorable color schemes.
For the past 18 years, AkzoNobel International Center for Aesthetics has been conducting full-scale research on global design and lifestyle trends with internationally renowned color experts. Our task is to capture today's mood and predict the trends of the next year. The culmination of this huge work is the ColourFutures color trends album, which includes the key color of the year, four complementary palettes, special techniques and tips for using color in space.
“This year it was extremely difficult for us to forecast trends and create color palettes that inspire creativity, inspire optimism and joy,” says Helen van Gent, Creative Director of AkzoNobel International Aesthetics Center. We all had to face difficulties that disrupted our usual way of life. At the same time, we gained new experience and knowledge, began to value our home, home comfort, communication with family and friends in a new way. We rediscovered the concepts of solidarity, kindness and generosity, and we realized that together we can do incredible things. And finally, we were able to gather courage and continue on our way forward."
