On Saturday, May 30, in honor of the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the twentieth anniversary architectural exhibition "Arch Moscow" in the courtyard of the Central House of Artists, a real, big party was held with invited famous presenters and pop stars. The ceremony was hosted by the ballet dancer Gediminas Taranda and the permanent host of the Culture TV channel Narmin Shiraliyeva. Despite the rather impressive size of the courtyard, it was completely filled with guests. In the center of the courtyard, the sponsor of the ceremony, RIM, erected a huge stage with floodlights, where the heroes of the exhibition swiftly rose, almost without stopping to deliver speeches.
The main event of the evening was the announcement of the architect of the year in the NEXT category: as you know, in even years the Arch of Moscow jury chooses a leader from among the "eminent", sixty-year-olds, and in odd years, a young architect. This time, the honor to become the Bureau of the Year NEXT and to equip its own exposition at the next exhibition went to the WALL workshop. In addition, as we have already reported, one of its founders, Ruben Arakelyan, will co-curate the non-commercial program of the next Arch of Moscow, which is also the Moscow Biennale of Architecture.
The exposition of the WALL bureau was one of eleven in the NEXT program exhibition! entitled “Project: Architecture of Action”, curated by Elena Gonzalez - this exposition, which took up a significant area on the third floor of the Central House of Artists, was named by the jury “The Best Curatorial Project”. The very different solutions proposed by the participants formed a coherent and interconnected space, similar to a maze of large sculptural forms and art objects.
In the nomination "Best Special Project" three participants were noted at once. The main prize went to the Crystal Handwriting exhibition, which was prepared by Archistudio, combining the works of famous designers and architects of the world, with the unusual technologies of Fiam Italia. The romantic green installation, decorated with glass furniture, was created by the Belvedere design bureau and curated by Irina Shutko.
Another prize for the special project was given to the exhibition Architecture for Children of speech: magazine, based on the theme of the latest issue and the recent
round table. The speech: booth became partly an exhibition, partly a play area, where children could complement the exposition by painting practically on the walls.
The third best special project is the Project Light exposition, organized by the team of the Project Russia magazine. It was designed by Vladimir Kuzmin, who twice this evening went up on stage for the main awards. The project, which brought together light installations, art objects, photo and archive exhibitions, was curated by Elina Lobatskaya and Ksenia Loshmanova.
The exhibition of the Interregional Institute of Urban Planning won in the “Architecture” section: a stand with plywood cubes that could be manually twisted, putting together a conventional “mosaic” of landscaping. The installation was very popular with visitors, who now and then came up to the stand and were happy to rotate the weighty cubes, peering into the details of the design solutions. Receiving the award, the representative of the institute said that street improvement is one of the main trends of today, which, in his opinion, will be relevant for all the coming years.
In the nomination "The best exposition in the section" Exterior and interior solutions ", the RIM. RU company, the main organizer and sponsor of the award ceremony, and the afterparty that followed it, was awarded the 1st degree diploma. But the company won its first place not for this and not even for a giant banner in the form of a large stone wall that adorned the inner courtyard of the artists' house, but for a small but exquisite exhibition created by Vladimir Kuzmin, loyal to Arch Moscow, and the Pole-Design bureau. The II degree diploma went to the "Archikamen" company. 3rd degree diploma - Sturdy Design.
In the section “Light in Architecture”, three degrees were awarded to the companies Centrsvet.ru, which for the second year in a row took the first place, Artlight and Linea Light Group, respectively.
The theme of the Arch of Moscow 2015 was “architectural policy”: the central and largest exposition was dedicated to it, which united the projects of the largest Moscow developers - almost everyone was noted here. The main award went to the official partner of the exposition, the Donstroy company, for the projects for the improvement of public spaces in the Heart of the Capital residential complex executed by the Wowhaus architects. VTB Arena Park was awarded for its contribution to the implementation of the principles of Moscow's architectural policy and the development of a modern architectural image of the sports infrastructure. Hals-Development - for following the principles of Moscow's architectural policy and for contributing to the development of new-generation facade solutions. DSK Grad, concern Krost, group of companies Narostroy, Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye and JSC HC GVSU Center were also awarded.
