The new boarding house will be built on the Black Sea coast next to the existing hotel complex. The sites of the existing and new resorts are separated by Lenin Street - a federal highway and simply the longest street in the city of Sochi - and the projected boarding house will be separated from the sea and the beach by a railway. The location between the two highways is more of a rule than an exception for Sochi, and the architects in their work tried to compensate for this as much as possible, providing the new complex with convenient connections both with the city and with the sea coast.
The architects put several circles at the basis of the general plan of the new boarding house: this is the shape of indoor and outdoor pools, and the buildings frame them with picturesque half-rings open to the sea. This arrangement of volumes seemed to the authors not only optimal from the point of view of providing all rooms with views of the water surface, but also most appropriate to the very nature of the southern building. It is not for nothing that in the architectural design of the complex this theme is played out many times: numerous glass "drums" of public halls and round skylights are cut into the building of the main multifunctional building, the supports of the suspension road connecting the boarding house with Lenin Street and the beach are also round in the plan., as well as numerous gazebos, pavilions and playgrounds.
The main entrance to the territory of the boarding house is designed from the side of Lenin Street: between the roadway and the porch of the main building, which is solemnly raised on a special platform, the architects envisage an elegant oval square. Another entrance is located from the side of the recreation area; it will also be possible to get to the boarding house through the utility block, where the main loading area is located.
The compositional center of the main building is a multi-colored atrium foyer, from which you can get to all the facilities of the boarding house - the hotel itself, a restaurant, a wellness block, conference rooms, a leisure center for children, a beach bar and an amphitheater with a dance floor. Suites and suites will form the basis of the Yuzhnoye room stock, and a separate block is designed to accommodate families with children, from where the quickest access to the playrooms, library and Internet cafes located on the lower tier of the building. In the same place, at the lowest level, the architects placed more "adult" entertainment - billiards and bowling - and it is from this floor that it will be the fastest to get to the indoor pool. But the restaurant, banquet hall and bar are located on the "shore" of the round pool, from where a beautiful view of the Black Sea opens up.
The main building of the complex has a variable number of storeys, gradually increasing from one to eight floors. At the same time, the maximum number of storeys for the sake of improving the view characteristics of the rooms is shifted from the axis of the building to the southeastern part: the resulting dynamic silhouette is supported by the very plasticity of the building - it seems to be composed of separate "plates" of floors, between which voids appear here and there. Thanks to the latter, a rather large structure is not visually perceived as a massive bracket - on the contrary, despite its scale, it is a very permeable and soft structure, harmoniously combined with its resort environment - a beach, swimming pools, subtropical nature. The snow-white tone chosen by the architects as the main color of the decoration of the main building contributes to this.
The architects also paid close attention to the design of the beach area by the sea. Thematically, it will, of course, be connected with the park improvement of the entire complex - in addition to traditional beach facilities, there will be a shady promenade, a system of picturesque bridges and stairs. The beach will be separated from the railway track by decorative retaining walls, which guarantee the creation of a cozy atmosphere here, which is a logical continuation of the most comfortable environment that is designed at a higher level boarding house.
