The Beloyarsk bureau "City Arch" has a long-standing relationship. According to Valery Lukomsky, this is a lucky case when an architect found his client, who fully trusts the professional taste and qualifications of the author, and the client - an architect who embodies his wildest dreams. Cooperation between the bureau and the city administration began in the late 90s, and during this time the architects implemented a whole galaxy of objects in Beloyarsky. This is the residential area "Sportivny" and microdistricts 4 and 7, a children's and youth center, a swimming pool, an ice palace, the building of the city department of public education, an administrative building, a temple in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov … But there was no hotel in the growing city for a long time, and when in 2005 Valery Lukomsky proposed to the mayor of Beloyarsky to design a hotel, he enthusiastically supported his idea.

Valery Lukomsky also chose a place for the future hotel - striving to locate the only hotel in the city as conveniently as possible for its guests, the architect proposed to build it on a square that closes the perspective of Central Street. By the way, it was here that City Arch built the Nuvi at Center of Specially Protected Natural Areas - the high-rise volume of the hotel with two wings spread out in different directions adjoins the museum almost closely and thus completes the volumetric-spatial composition of the square.

And if the architects put two of the brightest symbols of the life of the indigenous peoples of the North - a boat and a chum - as the basis of the composition "Nuvi at", then the architectural image of the hotel refers to perhaps the most famous animal of this harsh land - the northern hotel, translated into Khanty - the caribou … The rear facade curved with an elastic arc, facing the Kazym River, on which the city stands, resembles a proudly curved deer neck, and the decorative structure crowning the high-rise part of the complex symbolically depicts its horns.

The high-rise part, which is a triangle with rounded corners in the plan, contrasts with the spreading, horizontally elongated wings of the building, embracing the square on both sides - they protect this space from the northern winds blowing from the tundra, which is relevant not only from an urban planning, but also from a practical point of view - in the future, it is planned to organize various city events on the square. The volumes flanking the hotel house the first and so far the only spa, restaurant and bar. The name of the latter - "ChumBAR" - is entirely due to its architectural design, in shape reminiscent of the traditional dwelling of northern peoples. Towards Central Street, that is, to the south, the building faces a fully glazed main facade with a cylindrical volume of a panoramic elevator. The hotel is the tallest building in Beloyarskoye (its height is 44.5 m), and rises above its buildings, so that the elevator offers a view of the entire city and the surrounding tundra.

The hotel project was developed back in 2006, but the construction at the stage of the erected monolith was frozen indefinitely due to the 2008 crisis. Then, by the way, various energy-saving technologies and materials were incorporated into the project, but later, when construction resumed, they had to be abandoned in order to save money. Nevertheless, the construction was completed, and in a rather short time, although the work in the tundra conditions is fraught with great objective difficulties. The ground part of the building rests on three-meter driven piles that pierce the poured sand cushion and abut against the permafrost.

Due to its position and dominant volume, the hotel building forms the urban environment not only for this particular area, but for the entire city - it creates new vantage points, sets the perspective and serves as an expressive accent of this whole flat area. The memorable appearance of the building is given not only by its shape, but also by its decoration. As the latter, a variety of materials are used: for example, metal with a rusty coating, the color and texture of which resemble deer wool, or red pine trunks and marsh grasses, which are lined with fragments of the facade. As conceived by the architects, "Caribou" symbolizes a natural, natural beginning, contrasting with the industrial challenge of civilization, embodied in aluminum and titanium-zinc roofing from Rheinzink.

Now that both the Nuvi at center and the new hotel have been commissioned, work is underway on a project for the improvement of the entire territory adjacent to these buildings - according to the City Arch project, an ethno-park and a walking area are being organized here. This project made it possible to connect the city and the embankment of the Kyzym River, thereby making up for the acute shortage of recreational areas in Beloyarskoye.
