Historically, Vitra has a professional competence in seating furniture, especially in segments such as home, office and public spaces.
However, over the course of its existence, the company has repeatedly created innovative pieces of furniture designed specifically for the outdoors. Together with designers such as Jasper Morrison, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Konstantin Grcic, Vitra has developed a range of furniture for outdoor use. The series is complemented by adapted examples of design classics, including the Eames Plastic Side Chair by Charles and Ray Eames and the Panton Chair by Werner Panton.
Some of the furniture has been designed specifically for outdoor use, while others have been adapted for outdoor use, for example by adding substances to prevent the seats from fading when exposed to sunlight.

Since the quality of all Vitra products is checked in the company's own test center, where 15 years of active use of chairs are simulated, Vitra can ensure that all surfaces and individual furniture components are highly durable.
