The Ecorium Project is part of Ecoplex Park, an initiative of the National Environmental Institute in Seochon County. The aim of this initiative is to acquaint the general public with environmental problems - not only with the topic of nature conservation, but also with the concept of biodiversity as exemplified by different ecosystems.
It is these ecosystems that are represented by the "Ecoorium Project", in which visitors enter, passing through a series of botanical gardens, laid out along the oxbow lake turned into a lake. Initially, the territory of "Ecoplex" was supposed to be occupied by an industrial zone, but the authorities realized the natural value of this area and decided to keep it close to its original state.
The Ecoorium Project is a series of greenhouses united by a podium. Each of them recreates the biomes of different climatic zones: moving along the route of observation, visitors make a "natural Odyssey" from the humid tropical forest through the arid subtropical biome, the Mediterranean ecosystem and the temperate zone to the Antarctic zone, where penguins were settled for reliability. In the "Ecoorium" you can get to know all the plants and animals on display in the most natural setting.
The frame of the greenhouses consists of powerful steel arches - "ridges" that support lightweight glazed facades.
