The building is conceived as a multifunctional laboratory, in which future and already established engineers can conduct theoretical studies, all kinds of pre-design studies, and set up experiments and refine the proposed technologies and prototypes. Actually, its original name - Advanced engineering building - speaks for itself. The translation into Russian sounds a little awkward: something like "advanced engineering corps" or "advanced production", but the essence of this does not change - we have a giant innovative factory, the main task of which is to captivate young people with the art of engineering and make the development process new technologies and technical objects as clear and understandable as possible.

With this task in mind, the building was designed. It consists of three volumes integrated into each other, one of which is fully occupied by an auditorium with 500 seats, and the other two are reserved for all kinds of workshops, laboratories, classrooms and spaces for individual lessons and informal communication. The center of the whole composition was a spacious foyer, which houses demonstration stands dedicated to new inventions, materials and technologies. The total area of the building is 18,000 m2.

From the engineering point of view, the AEB hull is also carefully thought out. The project includes all the most modern technologies and systems to minimize resource consumption, thanks to which the building has already been awarded the 5-star certification of the Australian national “green” standard Green Star.
