The Arbre Blanc ("white tree") residential complex will be located on the banks of the Les River, between the city center and the new districts of Port Marianne and Odysseum. Its balconies offer a spectacular view of Ricardo Bofill's Antigone complex.

The designers - along with Sou Fujimoto Architects, French bureaus Nicolas Laisné Associés and Manal Rachdi Oxo Architectes - emphasize that their home is not an ivory tower. A restaurant, art gallery and offices will open on the ground floors, and a bar on the roof, accessible to citizens and tourists.

But they did not forget about the tenants either: at their service there is a garden and a common room on the roof. But the main thing, of course, is apartments with huge, far protruding balconies, where, in the tradition of the south of France, the border between the premises and the external environment is blurred.

The project uses solar energy in a "passive" scheme, including "solar tubes" for ventilation; external adjustable blinds and a rainwater collection and utilization system are also provided.
