A new four-story house was built in the small Canadian town of Langley in 2015, and apartments in it began to be sold long before the start of construction. And already at the initial stage of sales, it became clear that only apartments with balconies or loggias - “solariums”, as they were called in the project, are in demand. As a result, in the early stages of construction, the architects had to make adjustments to the original design. Lumon sliding glazing systems were installed on all balconies, and all apartments in the house were quickly sold.

The idea of a glassed-in “solarium” balcony was born in Finland. The owners of such balconies can use them all year round - regardless of the climate and weather. You can relax or grow plants here even in winter - all balconies and loggias are equipped with built-in ventilation systems, electricity is brought out here, which means that there is always an opportunity to warm up with the help of a convector.

With frameless continuous glazing of the balcony, two horizontal aluminum profiles are used, which are fixed on the ceiling and floor, and in this case, on the upper part of the glass balcony railing. These profiles serve as guides for 8, 10 or 12 mm tempered glass panels. The first panel can be opened like a regular window sash - when you need to ventilate the room, and all other panels can be easily moved and, by turning, “parked” on the end side of the balcony, turning it into an open terrace with a glass parapet.
