This 40-storey building with a height of 160 m is a classic example of digital design. The work of Liz-Anne Couture and Hani Rashid is distinguished from ordinary buildings in this direction by the subtlety characteristic of their work. The architects tried to create a "symbol" of the nurbs architecture out of this skyscraper, making the most of the possibilities of computer generated forms (they invited Gehry Technologies to help in this).
Along with aesthetics, the decisive factor in the design was the desire to minimize resource costs in the production of building materials and construction, as well as to make the Strata a model for energy activity. One of the main elements of the building's environmental sustainability is an intelligent shutter system installed on the outer skeleton of the tower. This lightweight supporting structure wraps around the structure like a lace veil. In addition to a purely functional role, it will reflect light and change the appearance of the skyscraper depending on the time of day and weather.
Construction on the Strata should be completed in early 2011.
