The main exhibition on the theme “Cities, Architecture and Society” will be combined this year with the “Cities of Stone” exhibition in Venice and the “Port City” exhibition in Palermo.
New this year will be the holding of the main awards ceremony at the end of the Biennale on November 8, 2006. At the same time, the laureates of the Stone Lion Prize - mainly the Venetian section, and the Portus architectural award - in the Palermo section will be honored. The partner of the Biennale this year is Risanamento SpA, which is building in Milan new areas of Santa Giulia (architect Norman Foster) and the former Falk industrial zone (architect Renzo Piano). She will present her exhibition in Venice dedicated to these projects. The exhibition is also supported by the companies Inarcassa and illycaffè. The Targetti company, in cooperation with the Biennale, has installed a creative lighting system for the Italian Pavilion, some other exhibition spaces in Venice and all exhibitions in Palermo.
