A two-storey private wooden house in the village of Kozino got new glazing in 2015. The residential building was already on the site, but the owners, a married couple who spend a lot of time here in the summer, decided to glaze the open terrace so that it could be used in any weather. As a result, the house actually had a new glass central facade overlooking the field, and parts of the end facades overlooking the site were also glazed.

The house is used as a summer cottage, it is not heated, and the terrace does not act as a living area, therefore specialists

South Coast Moving Glass Architecture Studios recommended that customers opt for the cold frameless FB-cr system, which can be installed on a concrete, wood or metal base. This type of glazing uses panels made of durable heat-resistant tempered glass with a thickness of 10 mm. The leaves are moved by rollers along two guides to the stopper inside the aluminum profiles located at the top and bottom. The maximum width of the sections is 750 mm and the height is 2300 mm.

The terrace of the house in Kozino can be easily turned into an open one - all the glass canvases move to one side and "fold" like a book. The glazing looks light, there are no bulky parts, nothing distracts from the view outside the window. In the closed form, due to the absence of frames, it is practically invisible, in the open - when the frames are assembled on one side - it also does not obstruct the view, does not interfere with the view. The glass panels at the ends are framed with transparent polycarbonate profiles, which ensure a tight joint of the glasses, so that all joints remain completely sealed, and neither dirt, nor wind, nor precipitation penetrate the room. Holes are made in the lower guides that make up a single drainage system.

The FB-cr system is designed to keep out moisture, wind and precipitation rather than providing a comfortable indoor temperature. It cannot be used for entrance groups, and no more than six glass panels can be installed in one block. However, this type of glazing is one of the budget glazing in the line of products of the South Coast Moving Glass Architecture Studio, which played an important role in choosing a specific technical solution.

The range of colors that can be used for aluminum profiles and rails in the FB-cr system is very diverse: natural anodized aluminum, stainless steel, mother-of-pearl metal spraying, imitation wood and all RAL scale options. In the project of a country house in Kozino, the profiles and guides are painted in soft green and do not violate the overall color scheme of the house.

The project in Kozino is an excellent example of the use of frameless structures for glazing summer terraces. Such a terrace will allow the owners of the house to have a great time outdoors in any weather - closer to nature. And from the point of view of remodeling old buildings, such a glass facade-terrace quickly and successfully made it possible to transform a rural house into a high-tech building.
