The project Hamonic + Masson & Associés and Comte Vollenweider appeared in the south-east of Paris thanks to the decision of city deputies. In 2011, they lifted the restriction on high-rise construction within the city in the Massena-Bruneseau sector (13th arrondissement): it is now possible to build 50-meter residential and 180-meter office buildings there.
1960s - 1970s in Paris and its suburbs, many large arrays of residential towers appeared; then, in the 13th arrondissement, houses up to 100 meters high were erected. However, later, the well-known shortcomings of this kind of development forced it to be abandoned. Now, the architects of the Home complex were faced with the task of proving that residential towers of the 2010s are devoid of the flaws of their predecessors and can successfully complement the urban environment.
The two Home towers seem to be turning on their axis: this solution allowed solving the problems with insolation in the middle of the block and protecting the interiors of the apartments from the views of the neighbors in the complex.
In addition, the residential complex with 92 social and 96 ordinary apartments, as well as shops and parking on the lower level, combines the advantages of urban and suburban housing. On the one hand, thanks to the complex stepped composition of the two buildings, each apartment received an individual configuration, its own "identity", and all residents have direct access to the outside - to spacious terraces where you can dine or just relax: both of these features bring Home closer to a single-family house. At the same time, dwelling at a height means freedom from street noise and dust, as well as panoramic views from the windows.
The total project budget is 24.5 million euros. The cost of 1 m2 was 1,777 euros, with the total area of the complex being 13,780 m2.
