The results of the next competition of fantastic skyscraper designs, which the eVolo magazine has been holding for the 13th time, have been summed up. Every year the number of participants in the competition is growing, this time the organizers received 526 projects. The contestants' fantasy, by tradition, was not limited to anything. The main task was to challenge today's trends in high-rise construction and present the skyscraper with your vision of the skyscraper of tomorrow.
At the first place, by the decision of the jury, turned out to be a project of a folding skyscraper Skyshelter.zip, intended for placement in emergency zones. The structure can be easily folded, packaged, transported by helicopter and deployed again at the site of a disaster or natural disaster. Hence the analogy with a zip archive. The building is turned around with a ball filled with helium (the amount of gas allows you to adjust the height of the building). Inside - everything that may be needed to provide assistance and accommodate the victims. The authors of the project are Damian Granosik, Jakub Kulisa and Piotr Panchik, Poland.
Second place took over the Shinto Shrine project. It is a vertical hybrid of a Shinto shrine and a rice farm in Tokyo. Religion and agriculture have long been central to Japanese life. However, with the growth of cities, both of these areas have fallen into the shadows. The project aims to restore the traditional significance of the Shinto temple, and thanks to modern agricultural technologies, also provide employment for the local population. Third among the winners was the project of the fire-fighting skyscraper Waria Lemuy. The author of the project, Claudio C. Araya Arias, is from Chile, where the problem of forest fires is very acute - right up to the destruction of entire cities by fire. To restore lost housing and infrastructure, as well as to maintain the environment, it is proposed to abandon the old model of settlements in favor of modular high-rise buildings equipped with systems for irrigating the environment and “mitigating” strong gusts of wind.
