The first BIM files in the Rockwool Group were developed for the Rockpanel range of decorative façade panels. Since June 2017, the entire ROCKWOOL range of building insulation has been available for use in 3D building modeling. The structures are designed in accordance with British BIM technology standards, recognized as the most respected in the world.
Information modeling technologies have been actively implemented in construction in Russia since 2016. This is due to the implementation of the plan for the phased implementation of BIM technologies developed by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. According to the ministry, the transfer of the state order to BIM is planned to be completed within five years.
The advantage of BIM technologies is that they allow you to create an information model of a building, which is used both at the stage of design and construction of a building, and during its operation and even demolition.
ROCKWOOL has unveiled a new catalog of structural families that the designer can quickly and easily transfer to his project.
The new catalog includes 27 basic designs. They can be applied as they are or as a basis. The parameters can be changed to obtain the required design.
Structural families can also be used to calculate material quantities, including creating a bill of materials showing area, volume, mass, and thickness of materials. In addition, it is possible to use BIM files for heat engineering calculations.
The use of BIM files will shorten the design time and improve the quality of the resulting documentation.
