Last week, the Moscow media focused on the territory of the auto giant ZIL, located just 5-6 km from the center of the capital and having an area of more than 300 hectares. A special conference was devoted to how this industrial zone can be reconstructed, which was held by the consulting company IRP Group and the Moscow government. Gazeta.ru and Afisha magazine tell more about the event and the four presented concepts for the development of this territory. The authors of the reconstruction projects were the Dutch Mecanoo, the French Valode & Pistre, the German bureau Uberbau and the Russians Project Meganom. The last two companies received from the Moscow Government (which is the main shareholder of ZIL) a proposal for a more detailed development of their concepts - in April, the revised projects of these bureaus will be transferred to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who will make the final decision on the future of ZIL.

Moscow's Muzeon park, located between the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure and Krasny Oktyabr, will also acquire a new life, RIA Novosti writes. The head of the city department of culture Sergey Kapkov said that this summer Muzeon will become part of the grandiose cultural and walking area uniting Vorobyovy Gory, Red October, the Central House of Artists, the Udarnik cinema, where the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Tretyakov Gallery will soon open, the park, which is supposed to be laid out in Zaryadye, the Museum of the History of Moscow and the Museum of Photography of Olga Sviblova. Professor of the Moscow Architectural Institute Evgeny Ass, who is developing the architectural and planning solution for Muzeon, said: “I would like to make a green embankment in the Parisian spirit, with a second level on pontoons, which would accommodate artists, the book trade, and second-hand bookshops. I would also like to dismantle the fences and make green fences instead of them - then the staircase hidden behind the fence, which descends from the Central House of Artists to the river, could become a valuable citywide event, a real amphitheater."

The Moscow government summed up the results of the work of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the city in 2011 and outlined the tasks for 2012. In particular, last year the work on approving the boundaries of the territories of monuments and structures was completed, Izvestia quotes the words of the head of the department, Alexander Kibovsky. Now the department faces a new task - to develop regimes for the use of land and town planning regulations within the boundaries of the zones of protection of cultural heritage sites. So, the mayor's office is going to spend 100 million rubles. on the formation of "points of interest" within the Garden Ring. Alexander Kibovsky also noted that this year it is very important to accept restrictions on the height of buildings in Moscow. “Already now we understand that there should not be an altitude of more than 75 m in any quarter located in the zone of regulated development,” the head of the department emphasized. According to Kommersant, this restriction covers 40% of the city's territory, including 80% of the area of the central administrative district of Moscow.

The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports about a loud scandal in Yekaterinburg, which has been brewing for several years. There, in the very center of the city, on March 8, the demolition of the cultural heritage site - "Passage" began. Chairman of the regional branch of the Union of Architects of Russia Sergei Aleinikov says that formally the company rebuilding the Passage - Malysheva Society 73 - does everything according to the law, since it has permits in its hands, according to which the building is not included in the number of architectural monuments. Only it is not clear who issued these papers, notes Sergei Aleinikov. The portal "UralInformBuro" explains that the documents of the regional Ministry of Culture indicate the adaptation of the "Passage" for modern use, and in the papers of the mayor's office - reconstruction. The Malysheva 73 company, which owns the land plot under the Passage, plans to build in its place a shopping center with an area of 60 thousand square meters, which is ten times more than the area of a historical building, plus occupy a part of the park, which is adjacent to the main avenue of the city. … The public who tried to defend the monument turned out to be powerless.

In St. Petersburg, at a meeting of the art section of the City Planning Council, they discussed projects of monuments to Viktor Tsoi, the blockade football match and Joseph Brodsky. The fate of the first remained unresolved, according to the second, a decision was made to finalize the project, and a monument to Brodsky will be erected according to the design of the sculptor Vladimir Tsivin. And a sculpture ICON MAN will be installed in Perm. The three-meter dynamic light object depicts a conventional person, whose body is made up of computer “icons” that light up according to a complex algorithm, creating a new drawing each time. The Samara administration is still far from such experiments, but even there they have their own "monumental" plans. In particular, at the meeting of the organizing committee "Cultural Samara" a "short-list" of sculptural compositions was compiled, the installation of which is desirable in the coming years. This list includes compositions dedicated to the heroes of The White Sun of the Desert, films by Eldar Ryazanov, books by Alexei Tolstoy and Yaroslav Gashek, as well as Barge Haulers on the Volga by Ilya Repin.

Vitaly Stadnikov also notes that he would like to implement a project for the reconstruction of the historical center of Samara, which he developed while working in the "Ostozhenka" bureau. And in Novosibirsk, the results of the competition for the color scheme of the facades of high-rise buildings were summed up. It was won by students of the Novosibirsk Architectural Academy (NSAHA), who offered to paint the residential area with all the colors of the rainbow. Their project will be implemented this fall.
