Oostkapelle is a small holiday village in Holland, located near a wide sandy beach on the North Sea coast. It is mainly filled with one-story houses with tiled roofs, half of them are hotels, half are private houses. The villa, built here according to the design of the studio Ten Hove Architect, not only occupies a fairly spacious grass lawn, but also radically differs in architecture, combining features of brutalism and deconstructivism. The project is based on the structure of a classic modernist villa: glass walls between massive floor slabs. But the orthogonal structure is dynamically complicated - the upper slab is raised, opened to the sky, as if the house had started and did not complete the movement of transformation by the forces of a yellow-orange "exoskeleton" made of laminated wood imitating African teak.

In fact, only the first floor is glass here - a living room with access to a terrace covered with a voluminous canopy. The rest of the walls are covered with corrugated dark brown panels and look like container walls. Here another, brutalist intrigue comes into force: the house seems to be part of a port structure, which must be recognized as a rather sensitive response to the context - Holland is a port country, and our "transformer" seemed to have moved to a green lawn from the cargo docks and sat down here to bask in the sun.

Meanwhile, as you know, architectural concrete is a very expensive material that requires careful casting, and besides, it is heavy and fraught with "cold bridges". In the building of the villa, it is successfully replaced by ALUCOBOND facade panels® Vintage colors Concrete mat (D0057), imitating the texture of slightly aged concrete. The panels are much lighter, do not require expensive technologies for casting facade surfaces - and yet the effect of concrete slabs is visually quite convincing: the surface is matte, the texture is rich and varied - the decor on one panel can reach five meters in length without repetition.

In addition, unlike concrete, ALUCOBOND® Vintage has a special polymer coating applied using the technology of roll dyeing followed by firing. It protects the surface from atmospheric influences, preserving its original appearance for many years, and also makes the material easier to use.
