Also, the complex with a total height of 25 floors will open a museum of modern art, which will be located in the former transformer: thus, Alsop is going to repeat the success of the Herzog & de Meuron workshop, which turned the turbine workshop of the old power plant on the Thames into a coveted exhibition space for artists around the world.
The tower will hang over the volume of the old building, relying on slender supports - "stilts" - a formal technique typical for Alsop's projects.
The renovated Glenwood Power Plant will also include a restaurant and park.
