The Salaryevo metro station, which will be located between the Kievskoye highway and the village of Salaryevo, is the final station of the Sokolnicheskaya line under construction. Back in the spring of 2012, by a decree of the Moscow Government "On Approval of the List of Prospects for the Construction of the Moscow Metro in 2012–2020." the intention was announced to extend the Sokolnicheskaya line from Art. "Rumyantsevo" in Solntsevo, and already in September 2012 it was decided to build the stations "Rumyantsevo" and "Salaryevo". The new shallow station is being built according to a special project - PKB Inzhproekt, architects A. I. Tarasov, N. D. Deev, D. Zh. Polyakov, and will have a column structure.

Arrangement of the construction site began in May 2013. Currently, active work is underway on the hydro and thermal insulation of the structure using TechnoNICOL materials. The main criteria for choosing materials were reliability and durability, compatibility of components and an affordable price. The correct design of the hydro and thermal insulation system prevents the negative impact of wet soil on the foundation structure and protects its exploited space from moisture and negative temperatures.

To create the heat-insulating layer, XPS TECHNONICOL CARBON SOLID extruded polystyrene foam was chosen, which is an ideal material for use in loaded and buried structures and provides high strength, reliability, durability and efficiency of the structure. This is due to the energy-saving properties of the thermal insulation, as well as the increased compressive strength, which is 500 kPa. This material is capable of withstanding loads of up to 50 tons per 1 square meter, which is extremely important for creating a reliable, even and at the same time rigid foundation.

An important characteristic of extruded polystyrene foam

XPS TECHNONICOL CARBON SOLID is practically zero water absorption coefficient, which is no more than 0.2%. This property provides additional waterproofing functions, and also prevents the destruction of the material due to constant freezing and thawing processes. The minimum thermal conductivity of the XPS TECHNONICOL CARBON SOLID material creates a reliable thermal insulation base for the entire structure, both at high and at very low temperature fluctuations.

When constructing a hydro- and heat-insulating layer of the metro lobby, extruded polystyrene also plays a protective role for rolled materials. The presence of XPS prevents possible damage to the integrity of the waterproofing during the backfilling of the excavation. An important property of XPS TECHNONICOL CARBON SOLID is its chemical and biological resistance. The material is not subject to destruction and decay, does not shrink and does not change its thermal characteristics over time. Thus, the hydro and thermal insulation system of the metro will reliably perform its functions for many decades.

The total volume of delivery of XPS TECHNONICOL CARBON SOLID material to the facility will be about 1000 cubic meters. In addition to the Salaryevo station itself, an electric depot of the same name will be built, as well as a large transport interchange hub.
