The state-owned Elering building houses office space and a network management center; its location and dimensions are given by the structure that existed on this site, of which only a part of the frame remained. The new building is three times larger than the old one. From the street side, it is protected by another building and its own fence, but the separation from the city is compensated by the connection with the gas and power transmission networks covering the whole country.
The very appearance of the building reminds of a "super-transformer", as its authors called it. Frankly "technological" construction in this regard is akin to transformer booths. The black concrete façade has a striking design with triangular lattice profiles in a bright blue-green color, protecting the premises from the sun.
In the interior (it was also designed by the Eeoo Stuudio bureau), on the contrary, the human component is clearly manifested. A two-tiered recreational area has been set up around the greened courtyard. Concrete surfaces are supplemented with wooden ones, lamps made from recyclable materials - insulators, are used, parts of pipes hold pots with indoor plants.
