The Jodrell Bank Radio Astronomy Observatory in Cheshire, 32 km south of Manchester, is part of the University of Manchester Astrophysics Center. It was founded in 1945 by the astronomer Bernard Lovell (Lavelle), and in 1957 a 76-meter radio telescope, which now bears his name, was installed there. The observatory is the leading center for radio observation of galaxies, pulsars, quasars, artificial space objects, as well as the search for extraterrestrial civilizations. It is also the center of the national radio interferometric system MERLIN, consisting of 7 radio telescopes located at different points in the British Isles.
Jodrell Bank is also home to the Science Discovery Center, which brings the observatory's research, history and discoveries to the general public. First of all, the center is aimed at schoolchildren, who are designed to inspire them to professionally study the exact and natural sciences.
The Science Discovery Center consists of two pavilions, Planetary and Space, with exhibition spaces, educational and information centers, and a cafe. The 55-meter façade of the Planetary Pavilion is embossed with our galaxy as it is "seen" by the Lovell radio telescope. This building is constructed from Trimoterm FTV INVISIO sandwich panels with hidden frames and a unique ArtMe pattern.
Facade design "ArtMe" is individuality, difference, aesthetics. Design "ArtMe" is a novelty that provides a combination of all these qualities and allows you to give an aesthetic design to a building with a facade cladding that plays on combinations of interesting shapes, shadows and schemes. Modern technology for forming the facade surface allows you to choose the design you like. On the other hand, you can also prefer the pre-made shapes "Puzzle", "Lines" or "Bubbles".
