The Sochi Commercial Sea Port was officially established in 1934. Today it is a commercial enterprise operating in the field of passenger transport and local cruise tourism, although the port has retained its commercial name.

In 2011, the reconstruction of the port began, which was timed to coincide with the 2014 Olympics in the city of Sochi. Two new berths, with a total length of more than 700 meters, cover the Black Sea in a semicircle opposite the old seaport on the coast. Breakwaters, protective breakwaters were built, and a new building for the port administration and a building for the border crossing of Russia were located on the embankment.

Now passenger service is carried out in the passenger terminal of the port, which includes a new modern international pavilion.

It was the administrative building that became the center of the port complex. Together with the building of the customs terminal, it forms a single complex of passenger and cruise transportation. The passenger turnover of cruise ships in 2015 is expected to be about 110,000 people, and the passenger turnover of liner passenger and ferry ships - 106,000 people.

The administrative building is a building consisting of two five-storey buildings connected at right angles. The facades of the building are made in the form of a combination of glass structures with blank walls. A ventilated facade technology with aluminum panels was used for the cladding of the building. Stained-glass windows and window frames are also made of aluminum.

Trimo was chosen as the supplier of building materials for this pavilion. She offered the best complete facade solution - Qbiss One modular facade system. Rounded corners without joints and seams, semicircular radial elements, as well as corner elements provide a perfectly flat and smooth surface and an unsurpassed appearance of the building facade.

Qbiss One offers almost limitless project possibilities. It is one of the sleekest façade systems in its class. The rounded corners of the modular elements eliminate the need for folds, cuts or welds that are visible on a conventional ventilated façade.

For the Qbiss modular system, a list of standard and non-standard architectural units has been developed that allow solving any architectural problems. This minimizes project development time and guarantees a stunning building appearance. To date, more than 500 architectural units have been developed. In addition, it is possible to develop custom-made units for the requirements of a specific project.

The quality of the materials used in the production of the system ensures protection from the harsh conditions of the sea climate. Namely: steel (Colorcoat Prisma with Galvaloy protective layer and polyurethane polymer coating 50 microns thick), gaskets (high-tech EPDM gaskets). As well as the production technology of the system itself.

The new international cruise terminal with a capacity of 1200 people per hour is equipped with the latest technology, and in terms of the level of comfort and services provided to passengers, it is not inferior to the best foreign counterparts.

The port complex will start operating at full capacity only in 2016, when all administrative, exhibition and retail areas are fully ready. Thus, after the reconstruction, the port of Sochi will allow, in addition to regular motor ships, to simultaneously receive 2 cruise ships up to 300 meters long and one passenger ferry up to 170 meters long.

In the water area of the seaport, there is also a marina for mooring three hundred private yachts, including a technical zone for yachts up to 50 meters long.
