Lake Michigan kiosk
Photo: chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org Competitors are required to design a kiosk to be installed on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago. Now on the shore of the lake there are already about 40 mini-kiosks that offer food, drinks and rental of various equipment to tourists walking along the embankment and residents of the city in summer. Participants need to think about how the kiosk will interact with the environment, how it can be operated all year round, and how it can adapt to various functional programs and seasonal changes.
First, the projects of the winner and three more finalists will be implemented and presented at the Architecture Biennale in Chicago (October 2015 - January 2016), and then in the spring of 2016 they will take their place on the shore of the lake.

Mobile architecture for healing
Photo: habitatforhealing.wix.com Habitat for Healing is a non-profit organization founded by medical students and architects in 2014, at the height of the global Ebola epidemic. Its goal is to create a comfortable and safe, from a medical and architectural point of view, an environment for patients and medical staff.
The first initiative of the organization was to hold a competition for the best mobile station solution for those infected with the virus, since the placement of patients in traditional hospitals led to the spread of the disease and the emergence of new foci. Contestants will have to answer the question of how architecture can contain the spread of Ebola in the world. In their projects, participants should also consider all aspects of a safe environment: air, water, land and vegetation.

The goal of the competition is to encourage new ideas that can help prevent unplanned urban sprawl and help spread awareness of this pressing issue. There are no restrictions on the scale of the object, the place of design or the functional program.

Planetary Urbanism - Criticizing the Present Through Information Design
We live in an era of radical change, characterized by the active development of at least two processes: urbanization and digitalization. While urbanization is changing the physical world around us, digitalization is creating intangible metastructures, a world beyond the world. In today's environment, these two industries interact closely with each other: maintaining the physical existence of a city is unthinkable without digital regulation.
Today, the complexity is often not a lack, but an overabundance of information. A large stream of digital data allows for many details, but makes it difficult to put these "pieces of the puzzle" into a single picture. The so-called "digital opacity" effect arises. In order to structure data, transform it into meaningful information, highlight the main and secondary information design is used.
The challenge for the contestants is to conduct urban research and present the results in their presentation using information design. There are several topics to choose from: urban metabolism, spatial structures, population, social innovation, digital city, industry.

Basic requirements for the work: it should be hand-drawn graphics in modern aesthetics, without historical quotes. The design, graphic design, size of the work, as well as the function and scale of the structures depicted are at the discretion of the authors.
