The town of Viroflet is located near Versailles, within the borders of Greater Paris, therefore it is also covered by the development plan for the regional network of pneumatic tram routes. Its two railway stations, Virofle-Rive-Gauche and Virofle-Rive-Droite, are also the last two stops of tram line No. 6 today. To accommodate this new function, tram stations have been set up under the existing buildings at a depth of 25 m. Both of them are solved in the same way: these are spacious and light "dungeons", not separated by walls and ceilings, so that passengers can easily navigate there and feel safe. Passengers descend onto platforms 42 m long by stairs and escalators, bypassing two intermediate levels.

The station's 20 m wide overlap is supported by a series of flat arches: for these, the architects chose white concrete with a silky surface. With a thickness of 450 mm, they reach a height of almost 15 m from ground level to the castle stone. The arches should resemble the supports of railway bridges thrown over the Virofle valley. Their material deliberately contrasts with the concrete of a completely different kind from which the walls of the station are made. Warm in color and very rough surface, they are inspired by the sandstone for the millstones that were made in Virofle. Untreated concrete "walls in the ground" without the usual ceramic coating also has a practical meaning: according to the idea of the architects, the places of possible leaks will be more noticeable on it, and so it will be easier to deal with them.

The two “concrete” are complemented by oak wood, from which the floors, stair treads, and suspended ceiling are made. The budget of each station was 19 million euros, together with a 1.6 km tunnel connecting them - 384 million.
