NeoCon 2018, the largest international trade show for commercial interiors, took place in Chicago in June. Haworth presented its new products and concepts on a huge booth, traditionally designed by the famous Patricia Urquiola. The space was organized taking into account different types of organizational culture, as well as the current concept of Activity Based Working. Thus, in such an office, each working group and each employee would find an ideal area for each specific task, taking into account his working style and preferences.
Also in this showroom, the concept of a workspace that enhances employee well-being was implemented, which is based on the book The Healthy Workplace Nudge and previous 2 years of research conducted with the active participation of Haworth.
Many spatial and psychological factors affect the well-being of employees. Among them: a high level of control of employees over how, in what conditions and when they can perform their work tasks, the level of mobility and autonomy, the availability of opportunities for rest and switching attention during the working day, a feeling of comfort and psychological security, and many others.
But first of all, you need to make sure that the workspace is consistent with an organizational culture that is based on the values of human capital development and employee health. Such a working environment will help unleash the creative potential of the team, increase their satisfaction and, as a result, well-being.
The director of Haworth Business Interiors Denis Chernichkin recently spoke about how important organizational culture is and why it must be taken into account in order to organize the space as efficiently as possible.
