“1/3 of the Home” was built in Sunndal for a young couple who had a limited budget and different needs. If the husband wanted a romantic and cozy house, then for his wife, a deer hunter, the main thing was the space for storing various equipment and cutting prey.
The architects suggested a way out: a house, where a third is a "real", insulated dwelling, but its roof covers another two-thirds. It is supported by two diagonal beams of laminated veneer lumber, forming a kind of triangular arches. The fact that the roof has already been erected will save money on possible completion, and the "semi-finished" condition of the house has already saved the owners' funds.
Inside the hostess of the house, you can store guns and butcher carcasses; the owners also park their car there, organize outdoor parties, make or fix something.
So far, “1/3 of the house” is a contrast between the ordinary part and the experimental two-thirds, and its appearance changes from the point of view: for example, from the driveway, the house looks quite normal. And if the owners want to increase the living space, the building will gradually turn into a complete likeness of neighboring houses. That is, during restructuring, it will change from radical to traditional, although it usually happens otherwise.
"Semi-finished" two-thirds cover a plot of 100 m2, and the insulated part of the house occupies a building spot of 50 m2. Since it has two floors, its total area is 100 m2. The entrance faces the road, the back door leads from the laundry room, the “warm core” of the first floor, to the space under the roof. The second tier of the core is occupied by a bathroom. Around are an entrance hall, a kitchen and a common room (below), a storage room, a bedroom, a second common room and a "TV salon" (above).
