The project is the most promising of several to have moved from OMA to a new REX bureau under the leadership of Joshua Prince-Ramus, former head of OMA in the United States.
The new version assumes an increase in the height of the Museum Plaza by one floor, but at the same time, the distribution of areas between various institutions and residential buildings will be changed. The hotel and studio wing each lost dozens of residential units, but the University of Louisville Fine Arts classrooms are now spread over four floors and include an art glass workshop. The number of traditional deluxe apartments has also increased, which will occupy the additional 62nd floor.
Formally, the building has become more compact and "slender", so to speak about a complex geometric composition of five blocks, each of which can be considered a skyscraper in itself.
