The initiation rite has been known since ancient times and marks a transition to a new stage of development; it is usually accompanied by a big holiday, often with painful trials, such as, for example, writing a diploma and defending it. It was also the case of the graduates of Markha, who, having "shot" at first in defense of professors and teachers, now had to pass a public test - an open exhibition of diploma projects, where everyone who came, including themselves, could choose from them "the most, the most ".

The consecration of the graduates of the main and almost the only "forge of Russian architects" into the ranks of professionals took place this year for the second time and it will probably become a tradition. In the intercolumnia of the White Hall of the Central House of Architects, tablets were hung with projects - the most worthy in the opinion of each of the departments - and each guest was invited to vote by attaching a stick with a red, blue or yellow tip to the tablet they liked - for style, idea and individuality, respectively. Within half an hour, many of the works were surrounded by multi-colored garlands, which created a semblance of a frame - the better the work, the thicker the frame. In general, the projects, despite the young age of the authors, were not entirely "green" and utopian, but on the contrary - quite relevant, even now.

In light of the recent decision of the Olympic Committee, the most popular was the project for the reconstruction of the stadium in Sochi - turned by the authors into a golden snake coiled in a semicircle. The expressionistic house of Ilya Kantor on Manezhnaya Square, which looks like a large sweeping tree, however, standing not against the backdrop of a pastoral landscape of the 18th century, but surrounded by buildings familiar to the eye near the Kremlin, caused no less excitement, which manifested itself in a thick “colored frame”. This project eventually took first place in the Idea nomination. Also popular was the project of a nanotechnology center in St. Petersburg - in the form of freely scattered buildings of complex geometric shapes, as well as a very relevant urban planning project for Moscow - the regeneration of the Karamyshevsky embankment, which today literally slides into the water due to the activated landslide.

After the presentation of awards: for style, the project of Varvara Kulebyakina was noted, for individuality - the work of Alexander Shorin, the teachers proudly called their graduates colleagues, although they reminded them that they had received only higher education so far, and they could acquire a profession only in the course of real work. One of the professors spoke about the amazing impression that awaits future architects, when what you have recently drawn suddenly turns into a real building in the space of the street and city, and wished to start his professional career as soon as possible, since today it is just boiling. Other teachers invited graduates to join the Youth Union of Architects and present their work at the Urban Forum in Turin in 2008. The result of the official part of the evening was a drawing of T-shirts and ties with the motto of young architects - Thanks God I’m GAP! Although recent students will have to grow up to the position of Chief Executive Officer …
