Cook developed this project together with his new studio Crab, where both English (Gavin Robotham) and Spanish architects (Salvador Arroyo and Juan Barrado) work. It will be a nine-story building in deep blue, raised on slender pillars above street level. The architect plans to use the resulting free space for arranging various kiosks and shops, as well as as a place for children's games.
The house will be part of a community housing estate for 100,000 people, the buildings for which will also be designed by Toyo Ito and FOA.
Will Alsop's Docklands Light Railway station is adjacent to the regular Stratford train station.
It is located next to the interchange building and consists of two side and central platforms. To protect passengers from bad weather, bright colored glass screens have been erected there. There are information boards and benches behind them.
The station canopy is made of sheet aluminum and stainless steel mesh. Its height ranges from 4 to 6 m, and its shape resembles a ridge of hills. The slabs are supported by yellow and orange steel columns set at an angle.
