This is a complex of three buildings located around a courtyard - a traditional scheme for the university campus. In this case, the yard is occupied by a pond measuring 27m x 27m with filtered rainwater. At its bottom, there are glazed circular openings through which sunlight enters the "forum", the space for social events, located below it.
In ground buildings, on a total area of 12,000 sq. m will house the Lewis University Center for the Arts, theater, dance and music faculties. The premises of the new building will include an art gallery, a "black box" theater hall, ballet and music studios, offices for teachers and administration, a lecture hall for 200 people in a semi-autonomous semicircular volume, a ticket office and a cafe. All these premises will be served by a single lobby.
The materials for the "Campus of the Arts" have not yet been selected, but Stephen Hall is going to embody the idea of "porosity" in this project as well - the transparency of the partitions that separate the interior of the building from the space of the university campus.
The “green” elements of the future building, in addition to collecting rainwater in the central reservoir and using sunlight to illuminate underground spaces, include overlapping the entire complex with green roofs and using geothermal wells to cool and heat its interior.
