The new building on an area of 700 m2 will house spaces for a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, an auditorium and a museum shop. It will complement the adjacent complex of F. L. Wright in 1903 in Buffalo, New York. In addition to the main house, this historical ensemble also includes J. Barton's villa, a greenhouse, a coach house, a pergola and a gardener's house. Over the past years, these buildings have suffered significantly from time and negligence of the owners, but since the early 1990s, a fund organized by local residents has been engaged in their restoration, and now the restoration of their exterior and lost parts has already been completed. By 2011, it is planned to restore the interiors and reconstruct the original landscape design of the site.

Toshiko Mori, who headed the Harvard School of Architecture from 2002 to 2008, lists Martin House as one of Wright's three key residential developments (along with Robie's House and Villa Above the Falls). In her design for the visitor center, she simultaneously started from the master's decision to build and borrowed its elements. Three walls of the pavilion are glazed (from the side of the Martin House complex), and on the concrete of the fourth is a pattern imitating stone blocks of the same proportions as the bricks from which Wright's house was built. The ceilings of the building are concave, but at the same time they mirror the profile of the flat, with a wide extension of the roof of the architectural monument, and the module of the Mori project is the "intercolumnium" of the supports of Wright's pergola.
