A sports center with a rugby stadium is planned to be built in Zelenograd on the territory of Victory Park, half of which has already been given over to sports facilities in previous years. There are four of them at the moment - a sports and recreation center, an ice rink, a swimming pool and a court. These are simple typical buildings, not connected with the territory of the park and poorly connected to each other. Consequently, the authors of the project presented to the council this time were faced with the task of smoothing the border between the park and the sports area and transforming the latter into a single space. For this, the architects turned the building of the future sports center into a kind of L-shaped screen. Screen separates the existing sports facilities from the park.

Inside the complex is divided into two parts: in the north there are family recreation areas - a fitness center and a basketball hall, in the long west - a teenage sports center with different sections, its large glazed halls open into the park. As for the interiors, the council members were confused only by the overly long corridors. The rugby field was recognized as competently oriented, with north-south stands, which is quite suitable for teenagers' daytime training.

The general plan and the volumetric-spatial solution of the complex did not cause any special comments from the council members. It fits well into the significant (7 m) relief drop, neatly adapted to the park's landscape. The building does not exceed a two-storey height, it "spreads" along the ground, and the color of the green roof imitates a lawn - probably not enough money for a real one, since the construction is budgetary.

One of the walls of the complex bends in waves, bypassing the existing trees; the recess in the northern façade, conceived by the architects, is intended for this. True, Svyatoslav Mindrul considered all this insufficient in terms of plasticity: "… the authors leave the alley with a curved facade, and at the same time they make the alley itself rigid and straight, not connected with the existing park." During the discussion, it turned out that a rigid scheme had been previously laid down in the park's project, carried out by Igor Pokrovsky and Igor Sverdlovsky in 1992. This layout has already been partially implemented, and its change was deemed inappropriate by the council members.

As for the volumetric solution, the council's questions were raised by the roof. It is she who will be visible from the city side. The main author's version with a single undulating roof was criticized for insufficient plasticity. The council found the second option more suitable, in which the volumes of the halls are more distinct and have separate roofs. According to councilors, this should ease the volume, as befits a park pavilion.

However, the main criticism was caused by the facades of the complex, consisting of solid stained-glass windows with black and green inserts. The facades were dismissed as too dark; Svyatoslav Mindrul and Yuri Grigoriev, chairing the meeting, recommended that the authors move towards a lighter scale.

In general, the council approved the layout and volumetric solution of the Zelenograd sports complex, summarizing that its construction is possible, provided that the authors take into account the comments made and - the availability of the necessary money. The construction, we recall, is conceived as a budget, and it is quite large-scale. Some members of the council even suggested splitting it into several queues - in the event that there is not enough money to build the entire complex at once.

The authors were recommended to: more accurately identify the relationship between the sports and walking areas, looking at the park more holistically; to make the facade from the side of the Great City Pond more convincing, giving preference not to dark, but to light tones.

The second object - the administrative and business center "Minaevsky" on Suschevsky Val, was presented to the council not for the first time. During its existence, the project has already changed several groups of authors. However, he was again unlucky - the object was removed from consideration due to the unavailability of documentation.
