The vice-mayor of the capital, Petr Biryukov, said that in five years the volume of supply of heat carriers to residential buildings will be faster and more efficiently regulated depending on changes in the ambient temperature thanks to new automatic taps.
Our housing and communal services are gradually "getting smarter", the country is implementing the project of digitalization of the urban economy "Smart City", which involves all Russian cities with a population of more than 100 thousand inhabitants, there are 203 of them in the country. Work is especially intensive in 76 pilot cities …
The website of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation notes that the goal of the project is "not only in digital transformation and automation of processes, but also in a comprehensive increase in the efficiency of urban infrastructure."
The introduction of high digital technologies into the urban economy is an important, but not the only measure that can increase the efficiency of the Russian housing and communal services sector. Achieving this goal also requires efficient materials, the very presence of which already reduces the cost of energy resources. First of all, we are talking about thermal insulation, which can be called the basis of the energy efficiency of buildings and structures.
Extruded polystyrene foam is rightfully considered one of the most energy-efficient thermal insulation materials. Energy efficiency, in this case heat-shielding capacity, is determined by the coefficient of thermal conductivity. The smaller it is, the more heat the material retains in a heat-insulated room. For extruded polystyrene foam, this parameter does not exceed 0.034 W / m ∙ ° С in the most unfavorable conditions. This is one of the best indicators among widespread modern insulation materials. A layer of heat-insulating plates made of extruded polystyrene foam with a thickness of 100 mm is equivalent in terms of heat-shielding properties to a half-meter wall made of aerated concrete, one and a half meter made of bricks and four meters made of reinforced concrete! As for unfavorable conditions, high humidity is primarily meant here. Water removes heat from the air due to the energy consumption for evaporation, as well as due to the significantly higher thermal conductivity compared to heaters. However, extruded polystyrene foam practically does not absorb water, which ensures its stability of thermal performance throughout its entire service life.
For the first time in Russia, PENOPLEX SPb company began to produce thermal insulation from extruded polystyrene foam in 1998 under the PENOPLEX brand®… Today the company produces high-quality thermal insulation boards at 8 factories in Russia and one in Kazakhstan, selling products in all regions of the country and abroad.
Thermal insulation PENOPLEX®, in addition to high and stable heat-shielding properties, it is distinguished by strength, durability, resistance to high and low temperatures and their drops, biostability. The environmental safety of the product should be noted separately. The raw material for its production is polystyrene of the same brands that are used in the manufacture of food packaging, personal hygiene items, children's toys and medical products. Orange color of PENOPLEX boards® symbolizes warmth and environmental friendliness.
The task of increasing the efficiency of the municipal economy is being solved in a complex. Along with the introduction of advanced technologies, it is necessary to use high-quality materials. Proper management of energy resources should be combined with all available measures to save them. In other words, a smart city must be lean.
