The main purpose of thermal insulation of pipelines is to ensure maximum safety, operational efficiency and reliability, to reduce the intensity of thermal interaction between the transported substance and the environment. PENOPLEKS heat-insulating plates and pipe insulation allows to reduce heat losses in heating systems, which are inevitable in the cold season, to maintain the set temperature of the transported liquid and prevent water freezing in case of stagnation and repair work.

PENOPLEX segments and half-cylinders

Semi-cylinders and segments made of PENOPLEX® expanded polystyrene can be used for thermal insulation of water pipelines, air pipelines, gas pipelines, oil pipelines and other pipelines of aboveground, underground channel and channelless laying, thermal insulation of pipelines with temperatures below ambient at food processing facilities, refrigerators, food warehouses and others. objects.

Thermal insulation structures based on half-cylinders and segments made of PENOPLEX® extruded polystyrene foam have high reliability and durability in the temperature range from -70 to +75 0С, for pipelines with a carrier temperature from +76 to + 1150С a multilayer construction of equipment and pipelines thermal insulation is used, with an internal safety heat-insulating layer and external heat-insulating layer of PENOPLEX extruded polystyrene foam.

Products can be installed on an insulated surface in one or two layers dry or using adhesive mastics, taking into account their compatibility with expanded polystyrene. When insulating in two layers, the products should be installed with overlapping seams. For fastening the intermediate layer of fibrous materials, bandages of steel packing tape or wire rings can be used. Fasteners are installed with a step of 500 mm along the length of the pipeline.

For thermal insulation of fittings and flange connections of pipelines in accordance with the requirements of SP 61.13330.2012 "Thermal insulation of equipment and pipelines.)", Removable thermal insulation structures should be provided.

As a cover layer of thermal insulation made of PENOPLEX® extruded polystyrene foam, a metal coating of aluminum, galvanized or stainless steel is provided only if the pipeline is on the surface. (In this case, it is necessary to protect PENOPLEX® products from UV rays).

Pipelines for underground channelless laying, thermally insulated by PENOPLEX® products, must have a reliable anti-corrosion coating in accordance with the current regulatory documentation.

Products made of PENOPLEX® expanded polystyrene are not subject to decay, damage by parasites and rodents, and are also resistant to mechanical stress and can withstand high loads.

When the structure is buried in the ground, there is no need to apply a top layer.

LLC PENOPLEKS SPb produces segments of grades 35 and 45 with an inner diameter of 60 to 1430 mm and a thickness of 30 to 100 mm. Thermal insulation for PENOPLEKS® pipelines has all the necessary certificates and conclusions, is made in accordance with TU 5767-003-54349294-2013, agreed with OJSC GAZPROM and LLC Gazprom VNIIGAZ. Also, by special order, PENOPLEKS SPb can produce thermal insulation for pipelines of any diameters and standard sizes.

PENOPLEX® heat-insulating segments are distinguished by a low coefficient of thermal conductivity, minimal water absorption, and a long service life. PENOPLEX® extruded polystyrene foam is an environmentally friendly material that is not subject to decay. Products from PENOPLEX® extruded polystyrene foam have a sufficiently high chemical resistance in relation to most materials and substances used in construction: bituminous mixtures, lime, cement, adhesives (not containing solvents), paints, acids and alkalis.

The use of pipe insulation, including in the Far North, makes it possible to replace the above-ground and semi-buried pipeline laying with a buried (trench) one, which minimizes the thermal effect of pipes on permafrost in the Far North. This prevents soil thawing and possible deformation of pipelines. It should be noted that this will halve the volume of earthworks to create a sand bed, reduce the construction time of the pipeline / gas pipeline and increase its working life. PENOPLEX® segments in pipelines located in the open air must be protected from ultraviolet radiation by a cover layer.

The high strength characteristics of PENOPLEX® provide reliable protection of pipelines from mechanical damage, including sharp rocky rocks and in areas of active tectonic faults. This protection maintains the waterproofing of the pipeline and minimizes the impact of the soil in the event of an earthquake.

How to correctly place an order for the production of PENOPLEX® segmented thermal insulation

When ordering segmented thermal insulation, it is important to correctly indicate the required parameters of the product. For example, "PENOPLEX® 45 S-2400.730.80 - TU 5767-003-54349294-2013", where:

45 - segment brand

C - product name - segment (there are also half-segments and segment blocks).

2500 - product length, mm, 730 - segment inner diameter, mm, 80 - segment thickness, mm.

Thermal insulation of heating mains and utilities with PENOPLEX® plates

Heating mains and utilities can be insulated with both segments and PENOPLEX® boards. Plates are used to insulate pipes for cold and hot water supply systems, sewers when passing through the ground with a carrier temperature of up to + 85 ° C.

The dimensions of the box in the ground and the thickness of the slabs, depending on the depth of freezing and the depth of the laying, are calculated according to the formulas given.

When insulating pipelines with an open lining, it is necessary to protect PENOPLEX® segments or plates with fiberglass or a similar material.

Pipes subject to thermal insulation with PENOPLEX® insulation must have a reliable anti-corrosion coating, while the segments themselves do not require waterproofing. The savings obtained when using the technology of pipeline insulation with PENOPLEX® plates (improved heat saving, reduced cost of restoration work, multiple increase in the service life of a thermally insulated pipe) fully meets the new requirements for the housing and communal services complex.

The figures show options for thermal insulation of trenches with pipelines in heaving soils in the absence of permafrost.

Option 01 - non-freezing of the soil in the trench near the pipes and under the trench is ensured, and, consequently, the absence of heaving.

Option 02 - pipes are laid in a U-shaped box made of PENOPLEX® heat-insulating plates to ensure that the soil around the pipes in the trench and under the trench is non-freezing.

The amount of removal l (m) of thermal insulation to the sides from the axis of the trench is determined by formula 1 for the scheme in Fig. 1 and formula 2 for the scheme according to 02.

Option 03 - the pipes are laid in a closed box made of PENOPLEX® boards, where the thickness of the boards is assigned on the basis of preventing pipes from freezing, and the value of had. - proceeding from the condition of ensuring the stability of the box in heaving soils (the freezing depth hadm. Should not create heaving unacceptable for the boxes).
