There were even more guests wishing to learn the new name of Daedalus than the seemingly spacious area of the Central House of Artists could accommodate: people crowded on the stairs, peeping out from behind the wide columns leading to the main exhibition hall. The ceremony was chaired by the President of the SAR Andrey Bokov.
Daedalus
The jury awarded the Grand Prix to an impeccable, and therefore predictable, already repeatedly praised project - the restoration of the Arsenal complex in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, whose building housed the Volga branch of the NCCA, which opened in early 2015. The prize was solemnly awarded to the authors: Evgeny Assu and Alexander Epifanov.
Before the ceremony began, a film on the restoration was shown: the restoration took more than eleven years; every brick built in 1843 was carefully examined and restored, numerous temporary layers with a difference of several decades were opened and carefully preserved. The Volga branch of the Moscow NCCA was opened in early 2015.
Gold
The awards for the implemented projects were presented by Mikhail Khazanov. Before the awarding ceremony, he noticed that this year the competition in the "Buildings" section was not as tough as we would like. In times of crisis, very few works can be brought to their logical conclusion, and therefore all of them are worthy of their award - “for heroism”.
According to the organizers, during the discussion, the building of the Moscow theater center "Cherry Orchard" on Malaya Sukharevskaya Square, known for the effect of glass hanging in the air, also claimed the title of Daedalus. The authors of the construction: Teatrproekt company and D. S. Solopov ", received the" gold ". This is the last building designed by Dmitry Solopov; The award was received by the architect's son Georgy Solopov.
Among the realizations, the workshop of Viktor Logvinov was marked with gold, for residential buildings on a narrow base, growing upward with a voluminous "crown" - this, as it sounded at the ceremony, is a reminder of an oak grove located next to the construction site. In contrast to the buildings, there were even too many projects created between 2013 and 2015, so the awarding ceremony in this section was delayed. The Grand Prix for the project - the Vladimir Tatlin Prize - was awarded to the "Creative Workshop of Architect Bykov" from Nizhny Novgorod for the project of placing a hotel complex and multifunctional buildings on Shevchenko Street in Nizhny Novgorod. True, the authors did not see the expected symbol - a reduced copy of Tatlin's tower. As Andrei Bokov explained, the promised reward did not reach the Central House of Artists on the indicated evening for technical reasons, but it will certainly find its heroes.

Among those awarded in the Projects section are the Vostochny cosmodrome from the Senab-project bureau and the reconstruction project of the Ruins wing in the architecture museum from the Rozhdestvenka bureau by Narine Tyutcheva.

The award, which honors architectural firms for what would be called a lifetime achievement in Venice, was renamed in honor of Sergei Kiselev several years ago. The urban planning section, according to the organizers, was presented very widely this year. Projects from Ugra, Tambov, Voronezh, Kaliningrad and even Magadan received their awards. Gold among urban planning projects was awarded to a whole association of designers for the project of planning territories in Nizhny Novgorod. Authors from several workshops of "Mosproekt", as well as from the bureau of Sergei Tumanin, spent a long time dealing with the diplomas they received and lining up on the stage - there was hardly enough space for everyone. At the same time, they shared their impressions of the interesting collaboration.

In the section "Customers" a silver medal was received by the Ministry of the Khabarovsk Territory, which is participating in the festival for the seventeenth time. This year they presented complex projects for the development of two industrial territories in Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk. But they did not stop there: the most talented and active designers were promised to give out a hectare of land for building and development free of charge. The audience immediately began to sign up in line.

The Golden Badge in the category “Creativity of Architectural Teams and Workshops” was awarded to the “Project-Realization” company for its contribution to social architecture. Evgenia Murinets, who presented diplomas to the winners, noted that thanks to this company, which actively participates in competitions and social programs, many modern and bright kindergartens and schools have appeared on the territory of Moscow. TsNIIPromzdaniy received gold among design institutes. Their main specialization today is sports facilities and stadiums, which is important in connection with the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Green and resilient
The competition "Sustainable Architecture" was held at Zodchestvo for the first time. Selection criteria - shaping of sustainable buildings, life cycle efficiency, use of alternative energy sources, living environment. The main prize went to Viktor Logvinov.
From the Academy
The Academy of Arts chose its winners, highlighting three works. Evgeny Leonov, the author of the project of the Novoperedelkino metro station, was awarded for the development of the traditions of modern architecture (sic!). The second diploma went to the authors of the project for the renovation of the industrial zone of the village of Ilyinsky Pogost, now known as the creative estate "Guslitsa". Their stand with live geese, loudly cackling through the entire exposition hall, became a hit of the festival. Another award from the Academy of Arts went to Nikita Yavein for the project of the Museum of Science and Technology in Tomsk.
Historian out of competition
As part of an out-of-competition program, architect and historian Andrei Batalov, who turned sixty this year, was awarded the Ikonnikov medal by the decision of the Board of the Union of Architects. By his own admission, Batalov, while still at the institute, he became convinced that the history and theory of architecture is "one of the main disciplines in life and the only worthy occupation for a person." With this conviction, in his own words, he lives his whole life, continuously engaged in active scientific activities.
