The space “Under the Roof of the House” is traditionally divided into two different parts - the projects and realizations of the festival participants are exhibited in the conference hall, and special and commercial expositions are placed around the perimeter of the hall of the general plan of Moscow, around the famous model. At the same time, more and more works are submitted for the review every year, and they no longer fit in the small hall: last year, a corridor connecting the two festival sites was also allocated for the exhibition of the projects participating in the competition, and in this the tablets also captured the mezzanine space. … In general, the number and variety of realizations, both interiors and country houses, are confidently approaching the pre-crisis level, and this is perhaps the main achievement of the festival that has opened.

I will not venture to evaluate the quality of the presented works equally unambiguously optimistically, but the fact that less kitsch and spreading cranberries seep into the exposition every year, there is no doubt even at the first cursory acquaintance with it. No, of course, the "palace" interiors have not gone anywhere, as well as households with an area of 2000-4000 square meters, stylized as classicism and baroque, are still found in the open spaces of the Moscow region, moreover, in the form of already implemented objects, but along with them on the festival features a lot of modern buildings and interiors. And the exposition "Yachtsman's House" by Vladimir Plotkin and Olga Golovina opens - an elegant three-part volume on Cape Zavidkin in "Pirogovo", which sets a very high standard for the quality of both architectural solutions and construction.

Traditionally, under the roof of the house, a free creative competition is held annually for all comers, and the works created within its framework are included in the exposition. The theme of the current special project was formulated as "Two things". “One thing is an object, an object, an element, perhaps even a work of art. Two things are already an ensemble. Two things are already the interior. An interior with its characteristic style, in which objects play their assigned roles, like in a play or an orchestra, solving a common problem,”says the curator's manifesto. It was this dialogue that the participants of the competition had to devote their installations to. And since the choice of subject matter, color solutions, materials, performance techniques and special effects was completely left to the discretion of the authors, their statements on the topic of interaction in a pair were of a very different nature. Someone limited themselves to an illustration on the classic theme of "yin and yang" or the no less classical opposition "black and white", someone depicted arms outstretched towards each other and designed furniture in the form of figures of two people. Bamboo stalks, tied to wooden abacus, symbolized the square root - a dialogue between the whole and the derivative. And Natalya Khlebtsevich and Grigory Kapelyan laid out a whole wall of bricks of indissoluble pairs of words: here and “to pieces”, and “war and peace”, and “elephant and pug”, and even “horns and legs”.

A separate section of the exposition this year is devoted to projects for the reconstruction of the festival site itself - the hall of the master plan of Moscow "Houses on Brestskaya". This is also a competition that is still ongoing, so all works are exhibited without specifying the authors. The participants were tasked with giving the hall a modern look, and each interpreted modernity in his own way. In one of the proposals, it is designed in the avant-garde style (the project is called "Mondrian - Malevich", in the other it acquires an openly space interior. The layout of Moscow itself is also being modified, and most of the participants do not stand on ceremony with it: someone turns it into a fully interactive map, someone into a conventional scheme of the territorial division of the city, lined with LEDs, and someone completely pulls it into separate "islands". symbolizing different areas of the capital.
