Golf is a relatively new sport in Denmark. In this country, it began to develop actively only in the second half of the 20th century, and therefore the need for well-planned golf courses and well-equipped clubs is still high. To fill this gap in 2007, one of the most famous Danish architects, Hening Larsen, undertook. In his own words, the proposal to build a golf club interested him in the opportunity to combine the image of a traditional American golf club and the techniques of Scandinavian design in one project.

The Scandinavian golf club was built on the site of a former military base, some of which have been carefully preserved and become part of the landscape of the main playground. It fits organically into the hilly terrain and the club building itself, where visitors can get ready for the game, get the necessary instructions and change clothes, as well as have a snack or negotiate in an informal atmosphere of a cozy living room or a stylish bar. In addition, the complex includes administrative premises and specially equipped rooms for storing inventory.

The main volume of the club is made of glass - the architect wants to open up the maximum number of interior rooms to the picturesque landscape, and in turn, more than provide them with daylight. In order to emphasize the dominant position of the building in the structure of the entire complex, it is raised on a stone podium, for the cladding of which Norwegian slate was used. The same material (by the way, one of the most expensive varieties of natural stone) is used for cladding chimneys and individual pylons, which expressively contrast with transparent walls.

The most striking element of this building is undoubtedly its roof. Larsen did not abandon the traditional gable structure, so familiar to lovers of rural landscapes and fans of the game of golf, but "multiplied" it, folding the planes so that they form several skates. At the same time, the angles of inclination for each of the parts are different, due to which a very dynamic and memorable silhouette of the building as a whole is created. It is also interesting that the slopes fly out far beyond the outer walls and hang over them with spectacular consoles, which in bad weather are able to shelter from precipitation, and on a sunny day to protect the attic floors from direct sunlight. From the inside, the roof is sheathed with pine (and this material dominates the interior), and the outside is clad with copper tiles.
