After last year's meditations of curator Oleg Kulik, Archstoyanie returns to the mainstream of clean, or rather simple, architecture: the theme of the festival is proto-shed, referring to the primary foundations of architecture, like shelter and protection. Some of the objects on this topic were the result of an open competition for the creation of the prototype "Shed No. 11", which was held in spring together with the "TAF" workshop. Among the main participants of the exposition are all familiar faces: AB MANIPULAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE, Nikita Tokarev, Landscape Bureau Atelier 710 and others, already noted at last year's festivals.
This year, for the first time, "Cities", which we announced in the last review, coincided with Archstoyanie. Of course, such a case demanded an architectural expression: the "Cities" came up with a competition for the construction of a "teleport", from where the participants of the Archfarm would "move" from the Tula region to the Kaluga region and back. The object is supposed to be built on July 30 - its design will be selected during a competition, which will be held on July 24-25 as part of a project seminar. By the way, another mini-competition will also take place there - for the design of seven small architectural forms for the Edalgo microdistrict of the KROST concern.
On July 25, Moscow, on Strelka, a presentation of the 13th issue of Project Baltia magazine will take place, similar to the one that took place in St. Petersburg the day before. And on July 26, for fans of avant-garde architecture, "Moskonstrukt", represented by Nikolai Vasiliev, will lead an excursion to the famous ZIL Palace of Culture - one of the best constructivist objects, completed by the Vesnin brothers in the mid-1930s. The “later” origin of the building against the background of the changed stylistic concept gave birth to an interesting mixture of avant-garde and monumental style of the 1930s. The excursion will take place along the route of 2009 and, in addition to the Palace of Culture, will touch upon other modern buildings in the area of the former Simonovsky Monastery - giant baths, a kitchen factory, a school, etc.
