It is located on a triangular section; the glass block of the exhibition space is enclosed in a concrete shell. The wide flat supports supporting it smoothly pass into the floors; the “cuts” separating them turn into “windows” on the horizontal surface of the roof, supplying the interior with sunlight; this motif has already been encountered in Ricciotti's buildings.
This solution protects the building from overheating: the "portico" around the perimeter provides shade throughout the day. In the museum (total area 2700 m2), along with exhibition halls, there is a library and a cafe with an open veranda.
The collection of the museum is made up of his own collection donated to him by the American philanthropist Severin Wunderman; Out of 1800 exhibits, 990 are works by Jean Cocteau himself, an outstanding French artist, director, poet and playwright (drawings, paintings, manuscripts, ceramics, tapestries, films with his films), the rest are works of artists of his circle.
