The location for the construction of the guest house was chosen on the shore of the reservoir, which borders the site. On the one hand, such an arrangement will provide maximum visual independence of the new volume from the main house, on the other hand, it will allow guests to enjoy the natural landscape. At the same time, unlike the main house, a timber was chosen as the main building material for the one-story guest volume - the authors of the project gave preference to it for its exceptional environmental friendliness, and for the natural beauty of color, and for the perfect correspondence to the function of the structure. Indeed, what else, if not wooden, can be a house on the shore of the lake, intended for the rest of dear guests?
In this part of the site, there is a rather strong relief difference - the architects successfully beat it, creating a spectacular three-part composition from the volume of the living-dining room, a roofed terrace and an open terrace that descend to the lake like steps. A block of bedrooms is attached perpendicular to them. It is interesting that each volume is covered with a pitched roof, but the slopes are turned in different directions: the windows of the bedrooms are oriented towards the water, while the living room with its highest windows faces the site. The slope following the relief and the overlapping roof of the terrace form a very expressive silhouette. An elegant staircase, also made of wood, leads from the lower open terrace to the water's edge.
Architecturally not intersecting, the volumes nevertheless have a similar layout. For example, as in the main house, the living room here is the largest room in terms of area and also combines several functional areas - here you can watch TV, relax in front of the fireplace, and dine. And since the interior is dominated by natural wood (the same timber from which the house is made), architects, seeking to emphasize its golden-honey hue, preferred white accessories and upholstered furniture. A tall rectangular fireplace with a wide shelf and two deep decorative niches is faced with light travertine; the wall that closes the geometry of the living room is also painted in a very light gray color. The latter ends with a bar counter that separates the kitchen space from the dining area. And if in the dining room itself the floors are made of wooden boards, then the "wet" area is decorated with small black mosaics, which are opposed by light gray facades of kitchen furniture.
A completely wooden house, moreover, built using old Russian technology (put on logs), could be solved by the authors of the project completely in the "Russian style". However, the architects deliberately chose to move away from such a style and unambiguity: the living room is dominated by modern minimalist forms and silhouettes, and the interiors of the bedrooms are decorated, rather, in the spirit of French country. The wrought-iron headboards, curtains with large floral patterns and elegant dressing tables with miniature bedside tables support this atmosphere. In total, the guest house has two bedrooms - "pink" and "green": as you might guess, the walls of one of them are painted in soft pink, the other - in light green, and the bathrooms designed next to them are also solved. And so that the walls made of timber did not bother the guests with their rather rough (especially to the touch) texture, the architects, 1.2 meters high, revetted them with panels of smooth wood. A similar technique was used in the design of bathrooms, only there the panels are made of tiles.
Completely made of wood and decorated in pastel colors, the guest house in Cherkizovo perfectly matches the role of a country house, filled with silence, comfort and sunlight.
