31.05.2012 - 01.06. in Moscow, MGSU hosted the International Symposium "Innovations in the Application of Gypsum in Construction", which brought together more than 600 leading experts in the field of production of materials from gypsum, scientific research, technologies and the use of materials in construction. Within the framework of the symposium, the opening of the KNAUF training laboratory took place.

The opening ceremony, which took place on May 31, was attended by Rector of MGSU Valery Telichenko, Director of the Marketing Directorate of the Knauf CIS Group Jörg Lange, Director of Public Relations of the Knauf CIS Group Leonid Los, Counselor of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation Karsten Heinz, heads and specialists of KNAUF, as well as students and teachers of MGSU.

"Our university cooperates with Knauf, one of the largest firms in the market for high-tech construction products, because only a powerful and serious company that cares about the future is ready to invest in educational and scientific goals, train modern personnel" - with these words the rector opened the ceremony MGSU Valery Telichenko.

Jörg Lange, Director of the Marketing Directorate of the Knauf Group, noted in his speech that the company is proud of the opportunity to cooperate with a leading construction university in Russia and equip a specialized training center for it. “We look to the future with great enthusiasm, realizing that in such centers, students and graduate students have the opportunity not only to gain theoretical knowledge, but also to apply it in practice,” stressed Mr. Lange.

The new training site is designed for in-depth professional training of graduate students and students. In the laboratory, they will be able to comprehend the secrets of gypsum-based finishing materials and work with them. The laboratory's capacity allows the simultaneous training of 20 people. At the service of students - the latest teaching aids, reference and teaching materials, as well as building materials and the latest technology. For example, the laboratory has a completely new plastering machine, the PFT, at its disposal.

All this will help future civil engineers to fully apply the knowledge gained at construction sites in Russia, to professionally assess the production and economic efficiency of work. The official name of the new structural unit within the Institute of Construction and Architecture MGSU - "Specialized training laboratory MGSU-KNAUF". An important role in the preparation of this event was played by the Deputy Director of the ISA MGSU - Professor Alexander Nikolaevich Topilin and the Director of the Institute - Professor Nikolai Ivanovich Senin.

The awarding ceremony for the winners of the competition for young researchers was a symbolic moment of the laboratory's opening. The rector of MGSU and Mr. Lange presented diplomas, gifts and commemorative signs to the three winners of the competition Maria Guguchkina, from SPbGASU (St. Petersburg) and Tatyana Khopreninova from OSU (Orenburg), and Alexey Orlov from MGSU (Moscow)

Young scientists devoted their scientific work to gypsum and materials based on it. The winners of the competition were selected by the scientific committee of the International Scientific Symposium MGSU-KNAUF, to "Innovations in the use of gypsum in construction", which took place on May 31 - June 1, and brought together more than 120 specialists from 12 countries at MGSU.

Currently, Knauf Training Centers, which are structural divisions of Knauf enterprises, are also in St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Perm, Dzerzhinsk (Nizhny Novgorod Region), Chelyabinsk and Khabarovsk (all - Russia), as well as in Kiev (Ukraine), Kapchagai (Almaty region, Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Minsk (Belarus). Consulting centers are open at the following universities: DonNASA (Makeevka, Donetsk region, Ukraine), AzASU (Baku, Azerbaijan), KazGASA (Almaty, Kazakhstan), KGUSTA (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), TASI (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), TTU (Dushanbe, Tajikistan)), KazGASU (Kazan), SUSU (Chelyabinsk), NGASU (Sibstrin) (Novosibirsk), NNGASU (Nizhny Novgorod) and FEFU (Vladivostok, all - Russia).
