The architects see airports and the ever-growing number of air passengers as an important sign of society's mobility, which is why the Vienna terminal has been designed with maximum functionality and is designed for future expansion.
Arched in plan, it adjoins the old terminal 2. To facilitate the orientation of passengers, its interior space is connected by a single floor surface. From the side of the airfield, the façade is glazed, with slightly recessed and protruding panels alternating there.
The terminal is planned on the basis of a clearly readable module, which, among other things, will make it easy to expand it from the north side. In the meantime, two "piers" have been added to the main volume for parking aircraft, including the Airbus A380 and similar huge airliners. 17 aircraft can “dock” there at the same time.
Skylink has 72 check-in counters, as well as shops, lounges, convenient walkways to the garage and to the underground train station.
