The Arch of Moscow program this year is united by the NEXT theme, and the work of young architects will take a central place in the exposition. In the hall of the Central House of Artists, the exhibition "New Names" will unfold, where 20 young Russian architects will present their projects on the theme "Education", and two floors higher will house expositions of three leading Russian architectural schools and a competition of diploma works of current graduates of the archives will be held. The foreign contribution to the youth program of the exhibition promises to be interesting as well: six young architects from six countries of the world will present their works at Arch Moscow (Next International project). In particular, the special guests of the exhibition will be Norwegian architects Hokan Matre Aasared and Erlend Blakstad Haffner, founders of the Fantastic Norway bureau, laureates of the Yakov Chernikhov International Prize for Young Architects “CHALLENGE OF TIME” 2010. On May 26, they will give a lecture at Arch Moscow entitled “Fantastic stories”.
In general, we note that this year the organizers decided to radically change the usual layout of the Arch of Moscow exposition. The “Architecture” section will move to the third floor and occupy all the halls of this level, and on the second floor, the “Interior and exterior solutions” section will be joined by the new sections “Light in architecture” and “Details”. However, this does not mean that the second floor will be practically devoid of architecture as such - on the contrary, this is where the personal exposition of Vladimir Plotkin - Architect of the Year 2010 will be located.
In the courtyard of the Central House of Artists, you will be able to see the 20 best works created as part of the competition for the best proto-object "Sarai # 11", and in the new DNA hall, projects aimed at innovative technologies are announced. In particular, it is there that the presentation of video projects for the International Architectural Congress in Tokyo 2011 will take place under the general title “Architecture 2050. City. Complex. Object”and a series of workshops on parametric architecture will be held.
On May 25, the exhibition will host a presentation of a new book by Vladimir Paperny titled Fuck Context, published by Tatlin Publishers. The famous cultural scientist builds his new research as a series of conversations with famous architects from different countries, who talk about the urban context in which they work.
On May 26, within the framework of the Arch of Moscow, the ceremony of awarding the Second All-Russian Prize in the field of wooden architecture ArchiWood will be held (the stand of the award, as in the previous year, will be located to the left of the main entrance to the Central House of Artists), and the next day the Press Prize and the prize will be awarded Audience Choice of the Competition "Golden Section-2011".
On Saturday, May 28, one of the most anticipated lectures of this year will take place - architect Ben van Berkel, founder of UN Studio (Holland), will speak for the first time to the Moscow audience. In general, Saturday promises to be the most "lecture" day in the "Arch of Moscow" program - on the same day, for example, architects Vladimir Plotkin, Sergey Estrin and Timur Bashkaev will give lectures, and architectural critic Grigory Revzin will talk about the master plan for the future innovation city in Skolkovo and about the prospects for participation of Russian designers in this project.
