Philips is a partner of the Circle of Light Moscow International Festival.
On the initiative of the company, from September 28 to October 2, Moscow was decorated with festive lighting of the main alley of Gorky Park and light sculptures brought from other countries and created by Russian lighting designers using LEDs. Also with the support of Philips in the framework of the educational program "Laboratory of Light" international experts in the field of lighting technology delivered a series of lectures and master classes.
“You can often hear that the potential of light is limitless, but the rhythm of everyday life does not always allow you to feel how true this is. In Moscow, we tried to present the brightest and most interesting projects. They will be able to surprise the guests of the Light Festival and demonstrate the wide range of lighting possibilities using LED technology,”said Rohir van der Heyde, Chief Designer of Philips Lighting Solutions. “I would also like to note that in addition to world-famous projects, the Festival presents the ambitious works of talented Russian lighting designers.”
Light laboratory
On September 29 and October 1 at the Central House of Artists, with the support of Philips, an educational project "Laboratory of Light" was held, where famous foreign and Russian lighting designers, architects, art directors and directors of famous world light festivals performed.
At the laboratory's master classes, experts in the field of lighting design shared their experience and talked about the role of innovation, the latest LED technologies, the financial and administrative components of light festivals, and also demonstrated how light can make a city conducive to life.
My Public Garden Light Sculpture Parade
The light sculptures brought to Moscow by Philips have turned the square in front of the Central House of Artists on Krymsky Val into an amazing garden. Unique art objects have become a clear example of how an artistic idea can breathe life into industrial artifacts with the help of light and modern technology.
Street light installation
The MUZEON Art Park featured light installations created by Russian lighting designers Ekaterina Petrova, Yuri Tseplyaev and Polina Rodkevich. The art objects Into the light, The City of Living Color and The Volcano were recognized by the international jury as the best in the category “Street light installation” within the framework of the International competition in the field of lighting design “Laboratory of Light” of the Moscow International Festival of Light 2012
Lighting of the main alley of Gorky Park
Illumination of the central alley of the Park of Culture and Leisure. M. Gorky emphasized the festive atmosphere of the Festival. The play of colors turned the familiar landscape into a fairy-tale world and gave the guests of the Central Park of Culture and Leisure an unforgettable experience. During the Festival, Philips Color Kinetics LED lighting created an atmosphere that best suits the main idea of the event - "Energy of Life", later it will delight visitors to the park during walks and celebrations.
To convey the festive mood of the festival and maintain the unique atmosphere of the park, Philips has developed a special landscape lighting concept for the main alley of the park. The concept is based on the use of different lighting effects. To convey depth and layering, ColorBurst Powercore and eW Burst Powercore equipment are used to add light colored and white accents to trees. With ColorReach Powercore equipment, tall tree crowns are illuminated with bright colored light, creating a vibrant color screen experience.
