At the 11th HI-TECH BUILDING 2012, ABB, a leader in power equipment and technology for the power and automation industry, showcased new additions to the ABB i-bus KNX product line. The new touchscreen control panel, the solution for wireless signaling between devices and the innovative door communication system embody the current trends in the industry.
The updated version of the Busch-Comfort Panel is equipped with a 9 "or 12" touch screen. The touch & swipe function provides high touch sensitivity, making operation simple and effortless. With its stylish frameless design, the panel will fit seamlessly into any modern interior. The Bush-Comfort Panel allows centralized control of lighting, shutter drives, air conditioning and ventilation, security systems and multimedia equipment connected to the ABB i-bus KNX system.
“Intuitive control and flawless design of each element are becoming as indispensable attributes of a smart home as comfort and energy efficiency,” notes Oleg Volkov, marketing manager for ABB in Russia. - Bulky boxes with dozens of buttons and multi-page instructions are a thing of the past. An analogy can be drawn with the evolution of computers: from huge computers we have come to elegant laptops."
The designers also paid a lot of attention to the appearance of the ABB-Welcome door communication system presented at the exhibition. Suffice it to say that he was honored with the 2012 iF product design award.
The intercom system is equipped with an "intelligent" video camera that automatically saves the portraits of visitors and is able to recognize the visitor's face even in the dark. Other useful features include an answering machine and the ability to integrate with iOs and Android mobile devices. Using the application, the phone acts as a subscriber device, allowing the owner of the apartment, even being far from home, to see the visitor and talk to him.
ABB-Welcome can be easily integrated into the ABB i-bus KNX intelligent building management system by transferring the subscriber functions to the Bush-Comfort Touch control panel.
The interaction of various components of the "smart home" is now possible on the basis of the Busch-WaveLINE radio bus. This technology simplifies the installation and commissioning process, as well as eliminates the need to lay wires, which is convenient when installing a smart home system at the stage of a completed interior.
The radio solution will also be of interest to owners of country houses who need to automate or remotely control devices that are outside the premises: for example, garage roller shutter drives, an irrigation system or outdoor lighting. The wireless Bush-WaveLINE system can be used independently of the ABB i-bus KNX system. In its simplest form, you only need a radio module and a remote control.
One of the interesting features of Bush-WaveLINE presented at the exhibition is remote control of windows throughout the house. The position of the window handle equipped with a radio module informs about the open, closed or ventilation mode. All information is displayed on the LED indicator, where you can display information about 4 rooms with up to 8 windows in each.
Visitors to HI-TECH BUILDING had the opportunity to test all the equipment presented at the stand and evaluate the innovativeness of ABB's developments.
