On September 1, 2012, a new GOST R 52502-2012 “Metal roller shutters. Technical conditions . This standard sets out the requirements for the performance of heating technology, wind load, minimum protective properties of roller shutter systems. GOST R 52502-2012 is maximally harmonized with the European standard for roller shutters EN 13659: it was developed on the basis of the requirements that are imposed on roller shutters in the European Union.
In connection with the introduction of the new standard, ALUTECH Group of Companies was the first in Russia to carry out a number of tests in accredited laboratories, thereby confirming full compliance with GOST R 52502-2012.
In accordance with the technical requirements of this document, roller shutters must:
• Provide additional resistance to heat transfer of a window or door by at least 20%;
• be resistant to load when exposed to the center of the web of a solid body weighing 2 kg with an impact energy of 20 J (this load is equivalent to a shoulder impact of a person of average build);
• provide corrosion resistance: metal elements with a protective and decorative coating must withstand at least 1000 hours in a neutral salt spray;
• be resistant to wind load.
• comply with one of the protection classes allocated by the standard for:
- burglar resistance;
- bullet resistance.
