The competition for the improvement of the territory of the Flacon design plant was held from June 5 to July 20. The participants were asked, on the one hand, to think about the complex landscaping of the territory, and, on the other hand, to develop projects of individual architectural forms: benches, covered pavilions, gazebos for lovers, book circulation points and bins for separate waste collection.
The long list of the competition included 14 works, 7 of which were projects for complex landscaping. However, due to the fact that the Flacon space is quite diverse and multifunctional, it turned out that none of the complex projects meets all the assigned tasks and goals.
As a result, the organizers of the competition compiled a short list, which included 4 works by two authors from different cities of Russia: St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. From the complex projects of these participants, the organizers chose two interesting ideas for improvement objects. These objects will be implemented on the territory of the Flacon design plant in the near future. And after the projects are completed, residents and guests of Flacon will make the final choice of the winner.
We present 4 projects included in the short-list of the competition, as well as some ideas from complex projects of the participants that make up the long-list of the competition.
Competition shortlist
Flacon - a city with its own laws
OOO "Archik" (Yekaterinburg)
1. Sector benches
“The individual parts of the bench are combined into different shapes. Metal construction with wooden seats."
2. Glass wall
“There is an idea to drive glass stones into Gabion! Build a wall somewhere and light it up in the evenings."
United lines of Flacon
Ivan and Svetlana Gadalovs (St. Petersburg)
“Mobility, compactness, versatility, variability, environmental friendliness and ease of installation - these are the qualities that, in our opinion, are important for modern objects of daily use. We propose to create a series of objects that are not only convenient to use, but also easy to implement."
1. Modular gazebos
“The supporting structure is extremely simple - it is a system of racks and beams fixed to each other, sheathed with lathing from bars. The structure is covered with transparent polycarbonate to protect it from precipitation. And for mobility, castors are attached to the base. For variability of use, boards are inserted between the lathing bars to different heights, which can serve as a table, bench, stand, counter, etc., depending on the function of the gazebo. The image of the gazebo will depend only on your needs and imagination.
The approximate cost of the gazebo is 15,000 rubles."
2. Multifunctional benches
“The main element is a pedestal, which consists of staggered bars in height and boards that are inserted at the desired height into this pedestal. Boards can serve as both a seat and a table, it all depends on the height of their location. From several such objects, you can create a whole line of benches, combining cabinets and boards with each other, depending on your needs. For mobility, castors are attached to the base. If the bench is not in use, all the boards (seating surfaces) can be assembled into the curbstone, you get a compact object, ready to use at any moment.
The approximate cost of a bench (from one pedestal) - 5,000 rubles."
