Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin awarded the winners of the 2017 Best Completed Construction Project competition. The competition was attended by 92 urban development projects implemented in 2017 in Moscow. Four winning objects were insulated with ROCKWOOL materials, which contributed to ensuring the fire safety of buildings.

The competition has become a kind of "Oscar" for the investment and construction community of the capital for its almost 20-year history. The best ones were determined by the competition committee and residents of the capital. In four out of 12 nominations, the opinions of experts and Muscovites coincided; the Luzhniki stadium, the new building of the Morozov hospital, the Hyatt Regency hotels and the section from the Victory Park station to Ramenka won. Zaryadye Park received a special prize "Project of the Year".

Sobyanin drew attention to several construction projects and singled out, in particular, the Zaryadye park, which, according to him, became the project of the year quite objectively. During the construction of the Philharmonic building, engineering systems were protected

wound cylinders ROCKWOOL 100. Their manufacturing technology ensures the same heat flux through the wall of the product and allows you to accurately calculate and select the optimal cylinder thickness for pipeline insulation. For the insulation of the building facades, the designers also chose ROCKWOOL solutions from non-combustible stone wool, which will ensure the fire safety of the new building.

The Mayor noted that the Luzhniki stadium became the best sports facility. During the reconstruction of the sports arena, the most modern engineering solutions and proven world technologies were used to ensure the highest level of comfort and safety for visitors. For fire protection of the internal communications system, non-combustible stone wool mats ROCKWOOL - WIRED MAT are used. Also, for thermal insulation of pipelines at Luzhniki, ROCKWOOL 100 wound cylinders made of stone wool coated with aluminum foil were used. In addition, in 2015, the designers also chose non-combustible ROCKWOOL materials - stone wool slabs FACADE BATTS - to insulate the numerous facades of the stadium.

Sobyanin also noted the Morozov hospital, calling it unique in its content. “There is no equal to her in the whole world. It has collected all the latest technologies in one hospital building,”added the mayor. To protect internal communications, such as air ducts, pipelines, ROCKWOOL non-combustible solutions, created on the basis of natural stone, were chosen. Mats, covered with aluminum foil on one side, give the structures an aesthetic appearance, and most importantly, they can increase the fire resistance of the structures, since the stone wool fibers withstand temperatures up to 1000 ° C, preventing the spread of fire in the event of a fire. This is especially important, because the medical institution is designed to accommodate 500 small patients at the same time.

Finally, the already mentioned ROCKWOOL 100 wound cylinders and non-combustible stone wool mats - WIRED MAT were used in Hyatt Regency hotels. For the insulation of ventilated facades, VENTI BATTS D stone wool slabs were used, and for plaster facades - BATTS D EXTRA FACADE. The product not only provides thermal insulation, but also serves as the basis for the application of the plaster layer. Such characteristics of FLOR BATTS slabs as dynamic modulus of elasticity, relative compression, index of reduction of the reduced level of impact noise made it possible to use the material in building structures of building floors.

The competition has been held since 2000. Starting from 2015, the winners in 12 nominations are determined by the decision of the city competition committee and open citywide voting through the Active Citizen portal, the competition website, or at the exhibition of participating projects in the Moscow Model pavilion at VDNKh.

In 2018, 92 projects took part in the competition - from among the objects, the permission for the commissioning of which was issued in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2017. 36 projects reached the final. About 1 million people took part in the open citywide voting.
